About Hemakshi

I paint because some feelings are too big for words.

I’m Hemakshi, a self-taught abstract artist based in Victoria, Australia. I also work professionally in a laboratory environment, so most of my painting happens around a very normal working life — often in the spare room after everything else is done.

My work tends to begin with sound, silence, movement, memory or a feeling I can’t quite put into a sentence. Sometimes that becomes a large statement canvas; sometimes it becomes something tiny enough to hold in your hand.

Everything here begins with an original artwork made by me.
