There is a sound that winter makes that has no name. Not wind. Not silence. Something in between — a frequency that lives in frozen air, in the space between one breath and the next.
Where Winter Sings attempts to capture that sound. Deep black grounds the canvas, holding the cold. Twin rivers of ice blue surge from the left, raw and fractured at their edges. On the right, something ancient and textured rises — glacial, immovable. And running through the centre, a sound wave. White and gold. The voice of winter itself, caught mid-song.
Part of the Before the Silence collection — three large origin pieces that explore what exists in the space before sound becomes language.
Original acrylic on canvas. 91 x 61 cm. Signed by the artist. Includes certificate of authenticity.
